DISCLAIMER: this post is not an excerpt from anything, it is just something that I feel I need to say.

For whom it may concern,

I was highly offended at the demonstration that was conducted on our campus last week. I personally may agree with some of the points of those conducting it, but I in no way condone the events. If you don't agree with something, it's perfectly fine to voice your opinion, just make sure you're not offending anyone in the process. I realize that you may have a lot to say on the issue because, I'm very aware that this is a matter of importance, but don't make a mockery of all the hard work some students are doing to make this university a great one. Diversity workshops are put on all the time by the university and many organizations must attend them; it's something the university has started (in the last few years) to pride itself on...their stress on acceptance and open-mindedness of diversity. Just because someone has different beliefs/morals than you, does not make them wrong. "Tomorrow hopes we learned something from today."
If you are going to voice your opinion in a public fashion, make sure you represent all sides. You can greatly aggravate the situation by doing things in an disrespectful manner.

Before the media got involved, the demonstration should have ceased. Now, Texas A&M has a bad image in the public eye.

Someone might have heard several great things about this University, but it only take ONE THING to totally change their perspective. Don't let the publics perception be a negative one about this great school.

as for "the freedom of speech":

"
IT IS BETTER TO BE SILENT AND BE THOUGHT A FOOL THAN TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT"

thanks and gig 'em
